Dry Eye Care

More Than Artificial Tears

While over-the-counter eye drops can provide temporary relief, they do not address the

underlying causes of dry eye for many patients. At our practice, we focus on treating the

root of the problem, not just masking the symptoms.

Understanding Dry Eye Disease

Dry eye is a common, chronic condition that occurs when your eyes don’t produce enough quality tears or when tears evaporate too quickly. Often this can exacerbated by common stimuli like air conditioning, fans, contact lenses and especially screen use.

This can lead to symptoms such as:

Blurred or fluctuating vision

Burning, stinging, redness or irritation
Picture
Grittiness or a “sand in the eyes” feeling

Dry eye is often progressive
and, if left untreated, can
impact both comfort and
 long-term eye health.

Personalized Dry Eye Care

Every patient’s dry eye condition is different. After a comprehensive dry eye evaluation, we create a customized treatment plan that may include:

· Advanced in-office therapies (IPL and/or LLLT)

· Targeted at-home care recommendations

· Lifestyle and environmental guidance

Our goal is to restore comfort, improve vision quality, and protect your eye health long term. Dry eye treatment is most effective when performed earlier in the disease state.

Advanced Dry Eye Treatments We Offer

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

IPL therapy uses gentle pulses of light applied to the skin around the eyes to target inflammation and dysfunction of the meibomian glands—oil-producing glands essential for healthy tears.
Benefits of IPL include:

· Reduces inflammation around the eyelids

· Improves oil gland function

· Helps stabilize the tear film

· Provides long-lasting relief for many patients

IPL is especially effective for patients with evaporative dry eye and meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD).

Low-Level Light Therapy (LLIT)

Low-level light therapy uses LED light to gently warm and        stimulate the eyelids, helping to restore healthy gland function and reduce inflammation.
Benefits of LLLT include:

· Encourages natural oil flow from blocked glands

· Enhances the effectiveness of other treatments

· Comfortable and relaxing in-office experience

· Non-invasive with no downtime

LLLT is often used alone or in combination with IPL for enhanced results.

Added Aesthetic Benefits

In addition to improving dry eye symptoms and eyelid health, treatments such as Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and Low-Level Light Therapy (LLLT) may provide subtle aesthetic benefits to the skin around the eyes. By reducing inflammation and improving circulation, many patients notice:

Decreased redness and irritation of the eyelids

Improved skin tone around the eyes

A healthier, more refreshed appearance of the periocular area

While IPL and LLLT are performed for medical eye care, patients often appreciate these added cosmetic improvements

as a secondary benefit of healthier eyelids and surrounding skin.*

*Individual results may vary. IPL and LLLT are medical treatments for dry eye disease and are not intended as cosmetic procedures.
